Manage API Definitions Overview
Control how APIMatic reads, filters, transforms, and merges your API definition with the APIMatic Metadata file.
APIMatic reads your API definition from the spec folder of your project. To change how it's read, without editing the definition itself, add an APIMatic Metadata file next to it.
The metadata file is a JSON file whose name starts with APIMATIC-META, for example APIMATIC-META.json. With it you can:
- Change how the definition is imported, for example how models and endpoints are named.
- Change how it's written when you transform it to another format.
- Remove endpoints, properties, or parameters by tag.
- Override parts of the definition, such as servers or authentication.
- Merge several API definitions into one.
